St. Thomas Men's Track and Field scored in 21 of 22 events and claimed the program's eighth consecutive team crown at the MIAC Outdoor Championships. The two-day meet concluded Saturday evening at St. Thomas' O'Shaughnessy Stadium.
Led by three Saturday victories, St. Thomas finished the final day with with 212.5 points, 81.5 points ahead of runner-up St. John's.
Coach Steve Mathre's team received points from 32 different athletes, including 11 freshmen. St. Thomas had 17 season-best times and marks over the two-day competition.
St. Thomas will have some athletes compete Thursday at the UW-La Crosse Last Chance Meet. The NCAA outdoor meet is set for May 23-25.
Ritzenthaler led a 28-point Tommie output in the pole vault. He joined Michael Bury to clear 14-7 1-4 to place 1-2. Cale Bordson (13-9 1-4), Adam Rikkers (13-3 1-2), Tyler Cullen (13-3 1-2) and Wyatt Amdahl (13-3 1-12) placed 5-6-7-8.
Kozlowski clocked 1:55.30 to win the 800.
Spann won the triple jump (46-3 1-2) and ran on the Toms' third-place 4x100 relay in 42.33 with Kaleb Keener, Conor White and Eric Douville. In both the 100 and 200 dashes, Douville placed third with times of 10.69 and 22.04.
Parker Rosenau took second in the steeplechase (9:21.81).
Matt Escher took fifth in the javelin (170-8).
Prater took sixth in the triple jump (42-6 3-4).
White placed eighth in the 100 (11.26).
