Smith leads Men's CC to fourth place

Senior Trevor Smith placed seventh to lead Tommie Men's Cross Country to a fourth-place team finish Saturday at the MIAC Championships at Como Golf Course in St. Paul.

St. Thomas put six runners in the top 31 and scored 111.

St. Olaf (44), St. John's (66), Gustavus (77), St. Thomas (111) and Carleton (140) took the top five spots.

Smith (26:29), who earned his first All-MIAC finish with a top-15, had placed between 30-39 in each of his last three MIAC meets.

Parker Rosenau (23rd, 26:57), Adam Brandt (24th, 26:59), Allen-Michael Burback (28th, 27:03), Andrew Fritz (29th, 27:03) and Seth Glidewell (31st, 27:06) finished 2-3-4-5-6 for the Tommies.

Four more Toms finished in the top 65: Dan Mahota (42nd, 27:30); Spencer Urick (48th, 27:39); Scott Helstad (52nd, 27:41); and Collin Kiley (65th, 27:56).
