Sophomore Elise Barnes homered in each game and had four RBI and Melissa Barry added four hits on the day as No. 8-ranked St. Thomas Softball scored a 10-1, 3-0 MIAC sweep of St. Mary's Thursday at South Field.

Game one was halted after five innings. The games were moved from Winona due to field conditions, thus UST was the visitor in each game.

The Tommies (23-5 overall, 12-1 MIAC) have won 10 in a row and 19 of their last 20 games to remain atop the conference standings with eight games to go.

Sammy Hogan and Hayley Dunning took the pitching victories. Dunning improved to 14-2 as she threw a three-hit shutout in game two.

St. Thomas has 19 hits on the day. Barnes, who has homered in three consecutive games, went 4-for-7 with four RBI.  Barry was 4-for-7, and Jenna Bromen and Hogan each had three hits.

Barry now has 23 hits in 14 MIAC games.

The Toms played Saturday at Macalester and Sunday at home against Concordia-Moorhead.
