For the second time this season and fourth time in the last two years, Tommie Women's Basketball All-America Hannah Spaulding has been selected her sport's conference Athlete of the Week.
With the conference championship at stake, Spaulding scored 24 second-half points en route to career-best totals of 32 points and 21 rebounds while playing 36 minutes in Saturday's 83-68 win over second-place Augsburg. She helped the No. 3-ranked Toms secure at least a tie for the MIAC championship at 16-0
She leads NCAA women's hoops in field-goal percentage at 71.4 percent, and the Annandale, Minn., native will break a 26-year-old conference record in that category as she is converting 69 percent over four seasons.
She's helped No. 3-ranked St. Thomas post a 22-1 record this season and a 106-9 record over her four seasons. In 104 career games she has 1,211 points, 604 rebounds and 164 blocks. Her team is 52-4 when she scores in double figures and 16-1 when she records a double double for points and boards.
Since Spaulding joined the Tommie rotation as a sophomore, her team has built an 80-5 record (56-0 against conference opposition).
