    The MIAC runner-up St. Thomas women's golf team received one of 10 at-large berths into next week's Division III Championship meet in Port St. Lucie, Fla. The four-day, 72-hole meet runs May 13-16.

    The Tommie women's golf team finished fourth out of 13 teams at the 36-hole St. Thomas Invitational at Pebble Creek Golf Course in Becker, Minn. The final 18 holes were played Sunday.

    Junior Laura Heck won a playoff for medalist honors in a field of 56 players and helped the St. Thomas women's golf team take third out of nine teams at Saturday's 18-hole Wartburg Spring Invite. Sunday's final 18 holes were cancelled due to an impending snowstorm in northern Iowa.

    Laura Heck tied for ninth out of 116 players as she carded a 75 and helped St. Thomas tie for 12th out of 20 teams at Saturday's Northern Kentucky Spring Invite. The Toms tied for third among six Division III teams with a score of 323.

The 36-hole tournament concluded with 18 holes on Sunday. Heck shot 76-78/154 for a two-stroke victory.
