Women's Golf takes 10th at opening tourney

The Tommie women's golf team tied for 10th place out of 22 teams at the 36-hole UW-Eau Claire Invite. The tournament concluded with 18 holes on Sunday..

St. Thomas had rounds of 335-360/695 in its season-opening competition.

Gustavus (653), St. Olaf (655) and host UW-Eau Claire (658) took the top three spots.

Soph Emma Wilson tied for 25th in a field of 122 players as she shot 82-88/170. Freshman Katie Kruchten shot 81-90/171. Shannon Richter shot 84-93-177; Cassy Norton shot 94-89/183; Kayla Westling shot 88-105/193. )

Saturday story

The Tommie women's golf team sits in eighth place out of 22 teams after the first 18 holes of the UW-Eau Claire Invite. The tournament is scheduled to conclude with 18 holes on Sunday.

St. Thomas shot 335 but is only nine shots out of third place. Gustavuus (318), Eau Claire (320), Carleton (326) and St. Ben's (328) hold the top four spots.

Freshman Katie Kruchten shot 81 and is tied for 14th place in a field of 122 players. Emma Wilson shot 82 and is tied for 21st. Shannon Richter (84), Kayla Westling (88) and Cassy Norton (94) rounded out the scorers.
