A senior from Alexandria, Minn., Thul recorded her second consecutive even-par 72 on Sunday to claim medalist honors by two shots in a field of 73 players at the 12-team Wartburg Invite. These were her 13th and 14th competitive rounds of 75 or better on her four-year college career.
Thul, who tied for second individually in the October 2017 MIAC Championships, has recorded three 72s in her three competitive rounds thus far in 2018. She was the MIAC Player of the Year as a sophomore in 2015-16 with the lowest stroke average among 10 conference teams, and that May led UST to an eighth-place NCAA finish.
St. Thomas' 324-318/642 team score was seven behind first-place Carleton, and three ahead of both Central and St. Catherine in the top four of the 12-team competition.
