  • WH's Jackie Carroll named D-III All-American
    March 20, 2009
    St. Thomas senior forward Jackie Carroll was named one of six players named to the Division III West All-America Team. Carroll was one of four finalists for Division III National Player of the Year as she finished with 136 career points (61 goals, 75 assists) in 107 games.
  • Women's Hockey falls 3-0 to Gusties in playoff finals

    No. 1-ranked Gustavus scored twice in the final 25 minutes then added a late empty-net goal to beat No. 8-ranked St. Thomas 3-0 in the MIAC women's hockey playoff championship game in St. Peter.
  • Lauren Bradel gets MIAC weekly honor in hockey

    University of St. Thomas junior goaltender Lauren Bradel (Bemidji, Minn.) on Monday was named MIAC Co-Player of the Week. It's the second time this season and third time on her career that the All-American has received conference weekly honors.

    Junior goalie Lauren Bradel stopped 22 shots and recorded her 10th shutout of the season to the lead the No. 9-ranked Tommies (18-4-3) to Saturday night's 3-0 victory over Bethel in MIAC semifinal playoff action in Mendota Heights.
  • Hockey's Jackie Carroll chosen MIAC Player of the Year

    St. Thomas senior forward Jackie Carroll was named MIAC Player of the Year in women's hockey -- the first Tommie to win the honor in the 11-year history of the program. She's also one of five Tommies to make the 24-player All-MIAC team.

    St. Thomas and Bethel skated to a 2-2 tie in MIAC women's hockey play Saturday afternoon in Blaine. The teams finsihed second and third in the conferece race and will play again next Saturday night in Mendota heights in the MIAC playoff semfinals.

    Despite being outshot each night, UW-Superior completed a weekend women's hockey sweep of St. Thomas with a 5-2 victory Saturday night at Wessman Arena in Superior. The Yellowjackets also defeated the Tommies 1-0 Friday night in Mendota Heights.
