No. 8-ranked Tommie Women's Hockey got goals from five different players in Friday night's 5-0 victory over St. Mary's in MIAC action at Saint Thomas Ice Arena in Mendota Heights.
The teams play again Saturday in Winona at 2 p.m.
Rachel Werdin and Allison Borgstrpm each had a goal and an assist for the Tommies (5-0 overall, 1-0 MIAC), who received points from nine different players.
Junior goalie Kenzie Torpy stopped all 14 shots she faced and recorded her sixth career shutout. It was the first loss for St. Mary's (2-1, 0-1).
UST led 2-0 after two frames on goals by Werdin and Demi Cooper. The Toms put the game out of reach with three goals in a 2:47 span midway through the final period from Kaylee Druk, Borgstrom and Isabel Bianchi.
