Kenzie Torpy stopped 24 of 25 shots and helped kill off all four Augsburg power-play tries in Friday night's 1-1 Tommie tie with visiting Augsburg in Mendota Heights.
No. 9-ranked St. Thomas (7-2-1 overall, 3-1-1 MIAC) used a short-handed goal by freshman Estee Frantz late in the first period to snap a scoreless tie. Demi Cooper assisted on the play, the first collegiate goal for Frantz.
The Auggies (6-1-1, 4-1-1) tied the score 1-1 on Mikayla Jones' goal with 35 seconds left in the second period.
The teams play again Saturday night at Augsburg (7 p.m.).
In five MIAC gams so far, Torpy has allowed just four goals and helped kill off all 14 opponent power plays.
