Fri. Wrap: W. Hockey ties, M. Hockey falls

No. 4-ranked Gustavus and No. 10-ranked St. Thomas skated to a 0-0 overtime tie Friday night in St. Peter. The teams play again Saturday at 2 p.m. in Mendota Heights.

The Gusties (10-1-2 overall, 5-1-1 MIAC) had 33 shots on goal to 32 for the Tommies (8-3-3, 4-1-2).

Just three points separate the first five teams atop the MIAC standings led by Hamline (6-1) and followed by Gustavus in second and UST and Concordia-Moorhead tied for third.


Men's Hockey

Tommie Men's Hockey allowed five goals in a 14:00 mid-game span and fell 5-2 on home ice Friday night to first-place Gustavus. The teams play again Saturday night in St. Peter.

St. Thomas (7-6-1 overall, 2-2-1 MIAC) allowed three power-play goals. The Tommies' Johnny Panvica and John Peterson scored midway through period two after GAC had built a 5-0 lead.

Benjamin Myers allowed four goals in 28:00 for UST. Chris Amsden stopped 28 of 30 shots in net for the winners.
