Women's Hockey rolls to 2-0 start

Senior Kenzie Torpy had 17 saves in recording her 11th career shutout in goal and sophomore Shae McLain scored two goals as No. 10-ranked St. Thomas Women's Hockey scored a 4-0 win over Lake Forest for a sweep of their weekend series.

The Toms extended their unbeaten streak to 15 games (10-0-5) dating back to last January.

Freshman Anna Solheim added two assists and now has four points in her first two collegiate games.

Six different players scored the seven UST goals this weekend.

The Toms travel to UW-Stevens Point for two games next weekend.

 

Friday's story

Allison Parnell scored a goal and two assists and freshman Anna Solheim added a goal and an assist as No. 10-ranked St. Thomas topped Lake Forest, 3-0, in a non-conference, season-opening contest Friday night at Saint Thomas Ice Arena.

The teams play again at STA on Saturday at 2 p.m.
