Men's Hockey

St. Thomas couldn't close out a third-period lead at Bethel and tied the Royals 2-2 Friday night in Blaine. Tanner Barnes and Brett Gravelle scored goals for the Purple.

After a scoreless 5:00 first overtime, the Tommies lost the skating portion of the shootout in the last of the five minutes as it allowed a goal and thus claimed just one point in the standings to BU's two.

The Tommies (9-4-3 overall, 3-1-3 MIAC) play the Royals again Saturday night, on home ice in Mendota Heights at 7 p.m. St. Thomas' last three MIAC road games went to overtime after 2-2 ties through regulation time.
