Rachel Werdin scored three goals and Maddy Fiedler added four assists to lead No. 1-ranked St. Thomas Women's Hockey to a 5-4 win over No. 4-ranked UW-River Falls in Wednesday night's non-conference game in River Falls, Wis.

Senior Kenzie Torpy made 41 saves for the Tommies (19-0-2) and recorded her 63th career win. That ties Danielle Justice's MIAC record of 63 goalie victories from 2008-12 for Gustavus.

St. Thomas extended its current NCAA-leading unbeaten streak to 34 (27-0-7). The 14-month streak started after a Tommie loss here to River Falls in December 2017.

St. Thomas fell behind 1-0 before countering with three goals from Werdin to help build a 5-1 lead. Allison Parnell and Anna Solheim also scored goals. It was the seventh consecutive game with a goal for Solheim.

The Falcons (19-3) added two third-period goals, but couldn't get the equalizer.

St. Thomas plays Friday night in St. Cloud against St. Ben's.
