No. 1-ranked St. Thomas Women's Hockey will play in the national quarterfinals this Saturday March 9 against UW-Eau Claire. That game will be at Saint Thomas Ice Arena in Mendota Heights at 2 p.m.

Hamline and UW-River Falls play Saturday in St. Paul in another quarterfinal test, also a 2 p.m. start at the downtown Tria rink.

The Tommies (24-1-2) have not played Eau Claire in either of the last two seasons. The Toms are 4-1 against Hamline and River Falls this winter with all five games decided by one or two goals. Coach Tom Palkowski's team has allowed just 34 goals in 27 games, including only seven on the power play.

Eau Claire (21-5-2) had a tie and a close loss to both Gustavus and Hamline. The Blugolds have won 12 of their last 13 contests, and average four goals a game this season. They have scored 31 power-play goals in 28 games.
