Kristi King
Title: Assistant Coach

Coach Tom Palkowski announced that Kristi King will join his coaching staff for Tommie Women's Hockey.

"Kristi King comes here with many high praises from former coaches and players," Palkowski said. "She will bring a lot of energy, character and knowledge of the game to our program. I'm looking forward to having her meet the team and get the season going."

King brings an impressive resume in playing and coaching hockey.

King played six years on Stillwater High's varsity hockey team (seventh grade through senior year) and helped the Ponies win two state championships and one post a state runner-up finish. She was captain of both her hockey and softball teams there.

She was selected to attend USA Player Development Camps in both St. Cloud and Rochester, N.Y., and was also a prospect for the USA U-18 National team. King went on to play Division I college hockey at the University of Maine and another season at Bemidji State University before her career was cut short.

King has coached the last six seasons at Centennial High, including the last five as girls' head coach with three conference titles and a 92-42-6 record. She guided the 2017-18 Cougars to the program's first section title in 10 years en route to a berth in the state championship game. Centennial lost 2-1 to Edina in the finals.

King has also worked at USA National Camps in recent years and is a certified Level 4 USA Hockey coach. She also works at 3M Corporation.
