Marta Anderson's chip goal in the 16th minute found the top of the net for the game's only goal and propelled No. 3-seed Augsburg to a 1-0 win over host and top-seed St. Thomas in Saturday's MIAC Women's Soccer playoff championship game at South Field.

The Auggies (17-4-1) avenged a 2-1 loss to St. Thomas from seven days earlier on the same field and ended a 10-game home win streak for St. Thomas. They take the conference' automatic berth into the NCAA playoffs.

The No. 14-ranked Tommies (17-2-1) will await Monday's NCAA bracket announcements for a probable at-large berth.

Coach Sheila McGill's Toms, who have allowed just five goals in 20 games this season, started the week No. 2 in the North Region rankings. St. Thomas has made nine NCAA tournament appearances but none since 2009.

St. Thomas had a 6-2 edge in shots on goal but only managed one corner kick to two for Augsburg.
