Women's Soccer heads to La Crosse again for NCAAs

Women's Soccer heads to La Crosse again for NCAAs

NCAA bracket here

For the third year in a row and 12th time overall, Tommie Women's Soccer is back in the NCAA playoff field.

No. 18-ranked St. Thomas (18-2) swept the conference regular-season and playoff crowns and set a school record for victories.

The only bad news: the NCAA formula alternates gender in assigning who gets priority to play at home. This year it's men first over women's teams, and since the Tommie men are in the NCAA field they takes priority over the UST women. So even as the top-seeded team, the St. Thomas women will travel to La Crosse, Wis., where they will face Knox (Ill.) in the first round. La Crosse and Wartburg (Iowa) play in the other day-one contest.

The Tommies face Knox at 11 a.m. on Saturday, followed by a 1:30 clash between La Crosse and Wartburg. The winners meet Sunday at 1 p.m.

No other MIAC teams were selected.
