St. Thomas Women's Swimming and Diving recorded seven victories, seven seconds and seven thirds and took first in the four-team UW-Stevens Point Invitational. The two-day competition concluded Saturday.
UST scored 952 points to top Mankato State (908), UW-Eau Claire (788) and UW-Stevens Point (669).
The Tommies placed 1-2 in the 800 free relay: Alex Howard, Mira Schroeder, Emma Paulson and Katelyn Strauss clocked 7:52.38 for the victory, and second went to Nicole Herrli, Molly Vancil, Claire Larson and Kate Smarjesse in 8:13.76.
UST won the 400 free relay in 3:36.72 with Howard, Tiana Molitor, Strauss and Paulson.
The Toms also went 1-2-3 in the 200 free with Paulson (1:53.49), Howard (1:57.26) and Strauss (1:58.06).
Pulson won the 200 back (2:05.22); Howard won the 500 free (5:13.22); Strauss won the 200 fly (2:11.07); Herrli won the 400 IM (4:40.90).
Paulson also placed second in the 100 back (59.27). Herrli took second in the 200 breast (2:30.25). Smarjesse was second in the 100 free (55:17). Kate Washenberger took second in the 400 IM (4:48.07). Schroeder took second in the 1650 free (18:42.11).
Herrli took third in the 200 IM (2:15.63). Strauss placed third in the 500 free (5:14.30). Washenberger was third in the 1650 free (18:57.39).
UST placed third in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:39.92 by Howard, Paulson, Smarjesse and Molitor. The Tom also took third in the 400 medley relay finishing with Paulson, Molly Peichel, Strauss and Howard clocking in at 4:02.33.
Smarjesse took fourth in the 50 free (25.15). Schroeder placed fourth in the 500 free (5:23.75).
Casey Nightingdale placed third in the three-meter diving (357.05) and fourth in the one-meter diving (371.85).
