Alex Howard on Tuesday was named MIAC Athlete of the Week in Women's Swim-Dive.
Howard had a hand in three firsts and one second to lead the Tommies to first at the five-team Minnesota-Wisconsin Border Battle. The Stillwater, Minn., native:
- anchored the winning 200 medley relay with a 24.41 split for 50 free, in a relay time of 1:49.71 good for 12th nationally;
- won the 200 free in 1:57.75, a time ranked 17th nationally;
- won the 100 free in 54.32, a time ranked 27th nationally;
- swam a 54.03 split in the 400 free relay for second place in a time ranked ninth nationally.
The Tommies compete at home Friday nght and Saturday afternoon in dual meets against St. Olaf and Carleton.
