Women's Tennis falls 7-2 to league-champ Carleton
Nationally-ranked Carleton claimed the MIAC women's tennis championship with Saturday's 7-2 defeat of St. Thomas. The match was moved indoors to the U of M Gophers Baseline courts.
 
Taylor and Paide McLeod won 8-5 at second doubles, and Natasha Hood and Catherine Lindsay lost a close battle at third doubles.
 
Freshman Taylor Jackson won 6-4, 6-2 at fifth singles. Hood lost a 10-6 tie-breaker at third singles.
 
St. Thomas (11-4 overall, 7-3 MIAC) will play fifth-seed St. Mary's Wednesday in the playoff quarterfinals.
 
The Knights (16-2, 10-0) will be the top seed for this week's playoffs with Gustavus and Bethel at Nos. 2-3.
