Excited to return to coaching again in the MIAC, Jon Henning brings 19 years of coaching and teaching tennis to the Tommie program.
Jon grew up in the Twin Cities south metro and competed collegiately at Hamline University. At Hamline, he was an all-conference singles and doubles player and was regionally ranked as well. After competing in college, he went on to work with top juniors at Wooddale Tennis & Health and eventually was named Hamline's head coach for men’s and women’s tennis. He coached a regionally-ranked singles and doubles tandem, numerous ITA Academic All-Americans, and led the Pipers to a spot in the MIAC men's tennis playoffs.
Jon currently competes and as been a Northern Section Tennis Champ for both 4.5 and 5.0+ level, twice competing in the national tournament. He's been ranked top five in the section in both singles and doubles in the Open Division. He lives in Burnsville with his wife Katie and son Wes.
