St. Thomas 2, UW-Superior 0

Senior Will Kidd scored two goals in the game's final 24:00 to snap a 0-0 tie and the No. 6-ranked Tommies topped visiting UW-Superior in a rematch of a 2017 NCAA playoff game Friday at UST's South Field.

St. Thomas had a 7-1 edge in shots on goal and extended its home win streak to 18 and regular-season victory string to 15.

Women's Non-Conference Soccer

Wheaton (Ill.) 2, St. Thomas 0

No. 13-ranked Wheaton scored a 2-0 win over St. Thomas Friday in Salisbury, Md., in the season-opening contest for both teams. The Thunder scored twice in an early 10-minute span and had a 6-2 edge in shots on goal.

St. Thomas concludes its trip with Saturday afternoon game there against Salem (Va.) College.

St. Thomas def. Nebraska Wesleyan, 25, 15, 25-9, 29-27

St. Thomas def. East Texas Baptist, 25-20, 25-14, 25-23

St. Thomas' 16-year volleyball coach Thanh Pham won his 400th match with the Tommies Friday on a 2-0 day for the Tommies (2-0) at the Colorado College tournament in Colorado Springs. Senior Julia Spacek led with 22 kills in a pair of 3-0 victories.

Pham (400-106) has guided St. Thomas to one NCAA championship and 11 MIAC crowns in his first 15 seasons, and 12 NCAA playoff berths in the last 13 seasons.
