Julia Spacek had 13 kills and three blocks and hit .375 to spark Tommie Volleyball in Wednesday night's hard-fought 3-0 defeat of Concordia-Moorhead in Schoenecker Arena. It was the MIAC opener for both teams and the first home match for St. Thomas.
Haley Cuppett recorded 13 kills and 13 digs for the Cobbers (2-7, 0-1). Bailey Gronner added eight kills and five blocks.
St. Thomas rallied from a 19-15 deficit in game two to pull out a close win and regain momentum.
The Tommies play three matches Friday and Saturday at the UW-River Falls Invite.
