Volleyball goes 1-1 on Friday, with tough five-set loss

No. 18-ranked Tommie Volleyball lost a tough five-set decision to UW-Oshkosh to start the day, then rebounded with a three-set defeat of Millikin in Friday action at the UW-Stevens Point tournament.

St. Thomas (12-3) lost to Oshkosh 25-23, 26-24, 13-25, 21-25, 15-8. The Toms came back to top Millikin, 25-14, 25-18, 25-18.

In the Oshkosh match, Selena Levendoski had 13 kills; Hannah Braun had 11 kills and four blocks; Grace Anetipa had 45 assists and 12 digs; Fran Egan had nine kills; Ellie Meyer had 19 digs; and Madie Kroehler had nine kills, three aces and 12 digs. In the Millikin victory, Kroehler had 11 kills and 11 digs, and Kate Achebbach added 11 kills.

St. Thomas faces UW-Stevens Point Saturday (2 p.m.) to close the trip.
