The MIAC Cross Country Championships races have been contested at St. Paul's Como Golf Course for 30 of the last 35 seasons, and every year since 1992.
But this season's 12-team women's race and the 11-team men's race will be held Saturday on the St. Olaf College campus in Northfield.
The men's 8,000-meter race starts at 11 a.m., and the women's 6,000-meter race will begin at noon. St. Thomas will attempt to post top-three team finishes in each race.
Both Tommie squads have relied on a group of sophomores and one freshman in their top eight for much of the fall. Neither UST team has an experienced All-Region or All-America runner to lead the way, but both have a good pack and depth.
On the men's side, St. Olaf and Carleton appear to have the best packs, with St. Thomas and St. John's poised to make a bid. On the women's side, Carleton looks like the team to beat with the Tommies and St. Olaf also expected in the chase near the top.
Sophomore Karl Wachter has led the Tommies all season and will look for a top-10 MIAC individual finish.
