No. 19-ranked St. Thomas Women's Cross Country had seven of the first eight collegiate finishers led by winner Olivia Moll and cruised to the team crown Saturday at the Luther All-American Invite in Decorah, Iowa.
The Toms scored 27 points and took first among 10 college teams.
Moll placed first in a field of 139 finishers for 5,000 meters in 18:55. Katie Breuckman placed second (18:59).
After one Luther runner and three Luther alumni runners, the Toms came in 7-8-9-11-13 and had their top seven runners within a 30-second pack. Jenny Launder (19:11), Sara Ness (19:13), Sara Miller (19:15), Molly Clarke (19:17) and Martha Hubbell (19:25) rounded out the Purple's top seven.
Six other Tommies broke 21:00 and finished in the top 51.
St. Thomas competes Sept. 28 at the U of M Griak Invite in Falcon Heights.
