No. 20-ranked St. Thomas put five runners in the top 50 and placed first among Division III teams and sixth out of 32 squads overall in the Maroon D-II/III race at Saturday's Roy Griak Invite.

Coach Joe Sweeney's team remained unbeaten against Division III competition in its three September races and topped eight D-III squads. The Toms beat one ranked D-II team (No. 17 Northern Michigan) and finished behind four teams ranked in the top 15 in D-II.

Sophomore Olivia Moll and senior Katie Breuckman finished 27th and 28th in a field of 375 runners to lead St. Thomas. Their 6,000-meter times were 23:22 and 23:23.

Seniors Jenny Launder, Martha Hubbell and Sara Ness finished seven seconds apart in 42nd, 43rd and 46th place.

Three other Tommie runners placed in the top 100: Sara Miller (61st), Molly Clarke (81st) and Carly Scheuerman (93rd).
