Luke Kopnick is entering his second year on the coaching staff for the University of St. Thomas women's cross country and track & field teams.
Prior to St. Thomas, Kopnick spent the 2018 track season with the University of Minnesota as a volunteer coach. While coaching at Minnesota, he worked primarily with the distance runners including the 2018 NCAA Steeplechase Champion, Obsa Ali.
Kopnick received his graduate degree in Sport and Athletic Administration from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash., in May 2017. While at Gonzaga, he served as a graduate assistant and gained extensive experience in coaching, recruiting, and meet management with the Zags cross country and track teams.
As a collegiate, Kopnick competed for Winona State University in cross country, serving as team captain in his final two seasons.
