Four different Tommies net goals

ST. CLOUD, MINN. - The St. Thomas Tommies  (6-2-0, 2-2-0) defeated No. 10 St. Cloud State (4-4-0,2-2-0) 4-3 in overtime Saturday afternoon. Ellah HauseMadison BrownIlsa Lindaman and Jenessa Gazdik all netted goals for the Purple. 

Quick Hits 

The Tommies entered the third period of play down 2-1 and tied the game up at three a piece to send the game into overtime, Jenessa Gazdik then sealed the deal with the game winner.  

Six different Tommies tallied points in today's contest.  

Scoring Summary: 

First Period: Ellah Hause opened the scoring for the Tommies, scoring a power play goal off assists from Madison Brown and Ella Boerger just seven minutes into the game. The Purple then took their 1-0 lead into intermission. 

Second Period: St. Cloud then tied the game at one 8 minutes into the period, and later took a 2-1 lead 11 minutes in. 

Third Period: The Huskies then extended their lead scoring 4 minutes into the period to take a 3-1 lead. Madison Brown tallied her second point of the afternoon scoring just after the Tommie power play expired to cut the deficit to one. Assists came from Ella Boerger and Ilsa Lindaman with 9:45 to play. Ilsa Lindaman then tied the game at three with five minutes to play. Assists came from Boerger and Hause.

Overtime: Jenessa Gazdik started overtime in the penalty box but caught the passes from her twin sister JuliAnna Gazdik and Ellah Hause on her way out to score the game-winning goal. 

Top Tommies 

Ellah Hause scored her second goal of the weekend and three points.
Ella Boerger tallied three assists.
Madison Brown tallied two points, one goal, and one assist. 
Ilsa Lindaman scored her third goal of the season.
Jenessa Gazdik scored her first Tommie goal as the game winner.  
Dani Strom recorded 28 saves in her first start of the season.

The Tommies will return to St. Paul for the grand opening of Lee & Penny Anderson Arena on October 24th and 25th against Providence. Puck-drop for the historic opening game is slated for 2:00 p.m. on the 24th.
