Close game turns quickly in Men's Soccer road loss

Evansville, Ind. -- Southern Indiana scored two goals in a 4:39 mid-game span and claimed a 2-0 victory over Tommie Men's Soccer in Wednesday's Summit League contest.
The game was scoreless into the final minute of the first half, but fortunes turned as the Purple were assessed a red card with 25 seconds to go before halftime. SIU converted the penalty kick for a 1-0 lead.
With the Tommies playing one man down the whole second half, SIU scored again 4:14 into the second half and never looked back.
The Screaming Eagles, a first-year Division I program, improved to 2-11-3 (2-4-1 Summit). Both teams had four corner kicks. SIU had a 12-7 edge on shots (5-4 in shots on goal).

St. Thomas (3-11-2) closes its season Saturday night at Kansas City.

The Toms used 19 players in Wednesday's contest, including two goalkeepers. Tucker Mann played 83 minutes in goal and recorded two saves.
