Baseball drops two on chilly day in La Crosse

Tommie Baseball received two solid starting pitching outings but still dropped both ends of Thursday's non-conference games at UW-La Crosse. The Eagles won 6-1 and 6-0 in a pair of nine-inning contests.

The host team broke open game one with three runs in the seventh inning. Game two was 1-0 into the eighth but the Eagles scored five runs off the Tommie bullpen.

Jackson Schnettler allowed two earned runs in 6 2-3 innings in game one, and Henry DeCaster allowed one run in seven innings in game two. DeCaster (3-1) fanned eight and walked two.

The Toms (11-6) managed just two hits off two UWL pitchers in game two. In the opener, Avery Lehman's RBI single cut the Eagles' lead to 3-1 in the seventh inning. Adam Krajewski had a walk and two hits in the day.

After playing 13 games over the last 15 days, St. Thomas is off competition until Tuesday's 2:30 p.m. home twinbill against St. Mary's.
