Ranked Penn State pulls away to top Men's Hockey, 6-2

University Park, Pa. -- No. 18-ranked and unbeaten Penn State scored three goals in a 66-second span early in period two to build a 4-0 lead en route to a 6-2 non-conference win over Tommie Men's Hockey here Thursday night.
The Nittany Lions (5-0) outshot the Tommies 51-21. Freshman Aaron Trotter made a season-best 45 saves for the Purple (1-4).
Ethan Gauer scored his first goal of the season, and second of his college career, as he buried the puck with .4 seconds left in period two to pull the Toms within 5-1. Lucas Wahlin added a third-period goal for the Toms.

St. Thomas closes the weekend trip on Frifday with another 6 p.m. Minnesota time puck drop against PSU.
