St. Paul, Minn. - Tommie Men's Soccer (2-7-1 overall, 1-0 Summit) has a tough home test awaiting on Saturday Oct. 8. After playing six of its first seven games out of state, the Purple play their fourth consecutive home game, continuing Summit League play at noon vs. league power Denver (7-2-2, 2-0).
Denver won against the Tommies last season on its home field, 3-1, in the only previous meeting of these programs.
Last Saturday's conference game vs. Oral Roberts was postponed after the sudden tragic death of ORU senior captain Eugene Quaynor in a car accident. That contest likely will be rescheduled for OSU's field in Tulsa later in October.
Coach Jon Lowery's Tommie team will have been off competition for 11 days before facing Denver. After being outscored 23-7 over its first seven contests, the Toms outscored the last three opponents 5-4. They have allowed 22 goals in six road or neutral games but only five goals in four home games.
Sophomore Faris Colic and freshman Carver Tierney scored goals in back-to-back games vs. Eastern Illinois and Gonzaga.
